"The screening equipment will not affect digital cameras and electronic image storage cards."

Mike & all,

Does anyone dispute above statement from TSA?

Also, I find if one carries on laptop(s), they have counted as zero carry-ons in 10+ roundtrips I've taken in 1.5+ years, because one is required to pull them out of carry-on luggage for separate scanning & one might as well fill luggage with other things, e.g., 10Ds, & walk up to security with laptops in shoulder-strapped carrying case for faster access.

Re: Good news for photographers who fly commercial

you have NO idea how often this subject comes up on iPhotoForum.com so this info is great to have... but some other traveling w/ camera's advise - always have fresh batteries in all your gear or have them with you, especially if going abroad. the reason is - should you have your items hand checked (by your request or being randomly searched) they want to see your electronic equipment turn on so they know its not a bomb or anything like that

I just called Delta to check about the additional carry on for photogs and they say no way.
