Canon 20-35 USM

I am thinking of buying the Canon 20-35 f/3.5-4.5 USM. It sells for $380 at B&H. It is relatively light 12 oz. Its MTF at Canon appears to be every bit as good as the MTF of the 17-40L. Finally, Photodo rated it 3.4 which is L territory for a wide angle zoom.

Has anyone any experience with this lens?

Frank B

Re: Canon 20-35 USM

I like it a lot - unfortunately I bought it right before I
got a DR & its kit lens so I almost never use the 20-35.

Good sharp light lens though.

Re: Canon 20-35 USM

Frank,

I agree with Matthew and I use this lens and like the results I've gotten. It's light and seems to fit well in my hand. I bought it and a 28-135 IS when I bought the 10D and I really like that lens too. They cover the focal range of my old Vivitar lenses on my A1.

Re: Canon 20-35 USM

Thanks for your comments. It looks like I will buy either the 20-35 or the 17-40L. I am weighing the lighter weight (pun intended) of the 20-35 vs. the wider focal length of the 17-40L.

Thanks again.
