D-30 for sale

I just walked into the hose with my new 1D. Need to sell my D-30 before my wife disowns me. It is about 1.5 Years old, includes everything that came with the original kit, including the battery grip, and a 340MB microdrive. Just had the shutter replaced by Canon about two months ago. There is about 1.5 years left on the extended warranty. The camera is in exceptional equipment - no marks, works great.

I upgraded to the 1D because I'm shooting a lot of sports and need the speed! You can check out shots that I've taken with the camera and read my bio at my photography web site.

Just figured out how to use the camera on AC. The speed of the motor drive is incredible!!!!

Why did you give it away?

Where my very clean, just back from CPS
service $1200 D30 sits in my bag as a backup...

Wow. I hope I don't have to sell mine for so little!

Then again, doesn't look like Canon's going to provide me with a full-frame EOS3 performance camera below $4k in the near future, so I'll just keep on using it ;-)

Surely Canon must have got the message by now that there is a queue stretching the width of the globe waiting for this mythical full frame CMOS based Eos 3 (I called it the D3) to emerge onto the world marketplace. And if they (Canon) haven't figured this out yet...why can't Kodak take up the D3 challenge and make us all happy. Until then, I too will be keeping hold of my D30. Either that or it will become my second body. JC

PS. Could someone please tell me, would it be possible to retrofit say a Canon D1000 (DCS 520) with a full frame CMOS sensor, new firmware etc? I guess the price of production would be prohibitive, it's just a shame seeing these camera's being reduced to paperweights. [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]
