5D: Previews acting funny

Never seen this before. Take shot and the lcd preview comes up very slow or not at all. but shots are going ok. Battery looks full. Any ideas? thanks!

Mike, did not occur to me its the card. I'll note that and test. If there are other idea, pipe in too what it could be.

There's probably an issue with how fast the camera is writing the JPG preview file that the LCD uses. It's probably slowed right down on the main file as well, you just don't realize it.

I would guess that the memory card's directory is fragmented. The easy way to fix that would be to format the card a few times in camera, and see if it keeps doing it.

Everytime you clear a card, you should format it in camera. That will save you a lot of trouble.

Thanks David, or course for every shoot I reformat in camera.
But today I had another shoot, different card, reforated in camera and the problem persists. Very annoying, click play button for preview, and black. But it's intermittent.

Anyone think its something other than card? Two random cards in a row....

You might try reinstalling the latest software update again. Even though you are likely running the latest software, you might try reinstalling it again. Perhaps there is a corruption issue. This is a total shot in the dark.
