5D MKII Auto Brackeing, Feedback to Canon or Chuck
Is there anyway to up the autobracketing number of frames via firmware? It's very tragic, that Canon limited the number to 3, especially if you are trying to use this camera for HDR work, which it's very suited for otherwise.
If this can't be done on the 5D MKII, I sure hope that Canon will increase this count on a future camera. As Nikon now most offers up to 9 on both the D700 and D3.

If your goal is HDR, at least 5. 3 really can't begin to get the necessary effect. Outback Photo cover page has a very good article on this subject currenty on the front page.

Chuck, thanks for the reply, I am assuming Class-1 EOS is only the
1ds MKIII and 1d MKIII? I know that the 1ds MKII is also limited to 3.
It seems that HDR is one of the fastest growing techniques with the Digital
camera field. Per Uwe's article, one user group alone has over 40K active
members and over 260K images posted.
Re: 5D MKII Auto Brackeing, Feedback to Canon or Chuck
Hi, Paul:
Actually, all 1D class cameras can be set for 2, 3, 5, or 7 frame AEB sequences. On the original 1D/1Ds and the Mark II versions, it's done through Personal Function settings. P.Fn's are uploaded to the camera via EOS Utility software.

Chuck, thanks again, for the info, I totally had missed that.
I have never used the personal functions on the 1ds MKII, and will have to read up on that. The EOS utility software, can it be downloaded from the Canon Website? I still might have the CD that came with the camera.
