I had found this a few weeks ago but forgot where I had put it until Jerry brought it up.

This plugin extracts the embedded jpeg from both Nikon and Canon raw files and works on both the Mac and PC: ijfr---instant jpeg from raw by RawWorkflow.com.

On the Mac, after the plugin is installed, simply control-click on the file(s) and they are instantly extracted and placed into a folder at the same level as your images. Slick and easy. As long as you aced the image, the extracted jpeg will be very good quality.
