I've had my 1DsMk3 for just over a month and have noticed that the colours shown on the rear LCD don't look anything like the colours of the subject, the actual files are perfect! I don't rely on the LCD image but it is a bit off-putting on such an expensive camera.
I shoot in RAW and use AWB, adjusting white balance in post processing (even though the AWB from the camera is usually spot on - amazing!).
Has anyone else noticed this or is there a menu setting that will put this right?
Thanks Mike,
I did know that it's the embedded jpeg but I've never come across such a difference with my other Canons and I wondered if it was just me or has anyone else noticed this?
my 1d3s screen is really punch, saturated and contrasty. i wish it had the screen of the mark IIs/markIIn. i feel your pain.
What 'Picture Style' are you using? To reduce "punch" I would suggest 'Neutral' or 'Faithful'. If that does not do it to your liking, reduce saturation and contrast.
If you are shootingt RAW, these will only effect the jpeg and it's display on the LCD.

thanks for trying, i dont see any change on the LCD changing picture modes. i shoot raw only.
On a similar note anyone have problems with the LCD when there is a lot of red in the picture? The red bleeds into the other colours, at all magnifications.
