there goes 1ds markIII sales. curious to know the price point of the 5D2. perhaps an minor upgrade to the 1dsIII is close (res only).

$2699 and available by the end of November.

Typical specs you'd expect - Digic4, sensor cleaning, live view, etc - like the 40D/50D in most regards.

It does 3.9 FPS and has a shutter life of 150k.

What makes it unique? ISO 25,600, 21mp (and sRAW1 of 11.1 and sRAW2 of 5.1mp), video w/ sound (built in mono mic, port for stereo mike). Full 30FPS of HD or 'SD' (640x480)video.

Still no flash, no weather sealing. New batt lasts 850 shots. New AF system to some degree - still 9 points, but there are 'assist' points in the middle it appears at the 3.5% spot meter area.

I expect Ill get one early next year, very likely the kit version with the 24-105 lens as I've been thinking of that lens and in the kit it's only $800.

Not everything I wanted, I would've like more fps and weather sealing and maybe higher ISO (I'm greedy), but it's got a lot of things I also don't know if I would've asked for. Video on a full-frame chip might finally make me like video. All and all, seems pretty nice, and I'm willing to be I'll get one start of next year as well.

The 3.9 shots/sec was slower than I'd hoped for, AF micro-adjustment for 20 individual lenses is nice, price point looks good. No real surprises from the early leaks I guess.

Hoping to see some high-ISO sample pics and movie mode demos today.

I'm getting one too...my 5D is already spoken for.

Wow....looks nice.....if it had Everything we wanted it would be 5K.....me, I'll have to be satisfied with my 5D MK I .... But that's a very good price!
