DPP needs a spot removal tool.

I beleive that with the addition of a spot removal tool DPP would satisfy the majority of photographer needs. Personaly I prefer DPP to ACR renditions, but I still have to go to Adobe for the spot removal, unless I am missing something in DPP's workflow. I normaly convert to TIF in DPP and finish with PS, converting to JPG only for the web transmissions.

Chuck, could you please pass along this request to Canon.
Thanks

Re: DPP needs a spot removal tool.

I've been playing with DPP's spot removal tool. Not impressed, it doesen't always work, and doesen't always remove the spot completly. I've been having to go to CS3 for complete spot removal in blue skies. Also very clunky and after using it you can't tell if it really worked until you convert and save. I do like their converter much better than ACR 4.5 even with their new profiles, but the workflow while improving over the years still leaves a lot to be desired. It appears that they don't create an intermediate image to work on as CS3 does that can than be saved as desired. You also can't add the spot removal to the receipt so it applies to the batch. You should be able to spot once and have it apply to a batch.
So I guess that I'm still requesting a spot removal tool in DPP. (lol)
Why dosen't Canon just give or sell Adobe the raw conversion algorythym and do all Canon users a favor.
They would save more "face" that way then continueing to mess up with DPP.

Why do dust retouching in the raw converter? you have PS anyways so I would keep and continue to use it. Personally my workflow is processing in capture one f/exp, levels, noise removal and everything else in PS. I do save the files retouched and also in a raw format.
