It said to do that on the help CD.
Tried different cord...
But finally, I just re-installed the whole app, and was good to go. This time, for some reason, it worked without having to do the software update. NIce... but...
Still: why the heck, would I use this app once, have it work beautifully, and then just a month later it's turned into garbage??
