Question about Canon 28-300?

Is anyone here using a Canon 28-300 L IS ? I put my Sigma 28-300 on my 1DSIII and was impressed at how good it was so I thought I would investigate the Canon 28-300L.
Are there any improvements in the later model. I know some of the Canon lenses have the physicial size of the switches changed. Any sutle changes happening in the design? I know its heavy, but I hike with a monopod anyway. Any comments from users who have recently purchased one?

Re: Question about Canon 28-300?

I have one, it's an OK lens, great range and the one I take if I am limited for space or carrying ability. I got mine quite a while ago, so I don't know if there are any recent changes to the design. PM me if you would like some image samples, although I only have a 1DIII, I'm not sure how good it'd be with the 1DSIII.
