If you are using a Mac:
Quit DPP, go to Finder, locate the following file:
Admin/Library/Preferences/com.canon.Digital Photo Professional.plist
...move it to the Trash and empty the Trash. Then relaunch DPP and your thumbnails should reappear.
Incidentally, DPP 3.2 Macintosh version and earlier versions are not fully compatible with OS X Leopard. A fully compatible Leopard version is scheduled for release in the very near future.
