5D does not write correct lens info into EXIF

I recently purchased a 16-35mm f-2.8L II. I find that using it on the 5D the firmware identifies it as a 16-35 whereas the 40D correctly IDs it as a 16-35 II. Looks like the 5D needs a firmware update to correctly ID the attached Lens. I haven't purchased the 85mm f-1.4L yet but I wonder if the same problem exists?
Chuck If you read this could you please pass it along to Caon Japan.

Hm, sounds like a general problem whenever a lens is released after the body. At least it got the focal length right.

Can't say I've ever seen any firmware updates listing "Added recognition of new lenses" as features, though... And some of the stuff they do list is fairly trivial (e.g., "fixed spelling in Chinese menu", that sort of thing).

A similar situation exists with the 5D's identification of the 70-200mm F/4 IS L lens.

Thank you Chuck. I installed the 5D 1.1.1 firmware this morning. Reads the lenses I tried properly.
