Re: Flash Bracket for 5d

I have the Portrait Perfect setup from Really Right Stuff. It's a very nice rig, but they have since come out with the Wedding Pro flash bracket, which you might find even better. The Portrait Perfect package requires the L-bracket mounting bracket for the 5D, which I initially bought, but I found I like to use the battery grip with it for this purpose, so I had to buy the L-bracket for the camera with battery grip as well, and they ain't cheap. The Wedding Pro bracket is also based on the camera L-bracket, so you don't save anything there. The RRS equipment is first rate, but as I said, it ain't cheap. It's worth the money, though. You can check them out on the RRS web site.

Re: Flash Bracket for 5d

I have the same frame for my 5D that you have pictured. It is a decent frame especially for the height that you can get the flash away from the camera. The only problem that I have had since day one is that I can't get the camera plate to stay locked in either vert. or horz. position. I have to tape it.

Re: Flash Bracket for 5d

Following up on what Dennis has said about the RRS Wedding Pro bracket, it works GREAT for me. It is light, compact, easy to use and very sturdy. Yes, it is expensive BUT probably the last bracket you will have to buy.

Re: Flash Bracket for 5d

I have used the "Custom Bracket" for some time. It is well engineered and very sturdy.

I only have one minor complaint. With the camera, bracket and external flash, my rig is about as big as a Speed Graphic! However, it is a good handling and efficient outfit:

I have the QRS-H2.;

Custom Brackets: Camera Brackets, Flash Brackets, Camera Accessories
