Chuck. Can you give any details as yet about a "Canon Prescribed" test procedure, to determine if a fix is actually needed for a given camera?

With the announced serial number range of cameras that "may" have a AF problem which is for over 45,000 cameras, and Canon putting an identifying mark on cameras that have had the AF part upgrade, how many people are going to buy a used Mark III without that mark on the camera even if it supposedly passes some test?

I for one do not find it credible that camera #52000 has a problem and camera #52001 produced from the same parts' designs by the same manufacturers but a different batch are somehow OK. This is reinforced by the recall of all the cameras from resellers that occurred in the UK.
