Problems:
When fully shifted in vertical mode the top parts of my buildings are never as sharp as the middles or bottoms?
Some of the scans just edited are razor sharp and others only average and I can't think of any reason for this problem?

Centered, you will see a sharp center, and a slight loss of perfect sharpness as you radiate outwards towards the edges. At full shift, now one "end" of the photo will be softer than the "other end" as you are no longer centered within the lenses circle of illumination anymore. IE, you will not see sharpness originating from the center, as in an unshifted lens. The lens's sweet spot is now hugging the edge of the frame, and the lens performance gets progressively worse as you radiate outwards towards the other ends of the frame.

I had both a Nikkor 28PC and 35PC, both the latest black knob models. I sold them and replaced the 35 with a Contax Zeiss PC35 Distagon. For wider, I also have a CZ 28/2.0 and 21/2.8 Distagons.

Re: Canon 5D with 24mm T.S. lens

Hi John,

I would be very interested to hear how your Zeiss lenses compare with the Nikon and Canon equivalents.
My particular interest would be the 21mm Distagon which could replace my 28PC lens if I were to opt to correct the perspectve in Photoshop.
Have you tried this and compared it to the 35mm Zeiss PC for example.

Regards
Michael
