I upgraded mine as well. THe LCD appears brighter but have not been able to test in sun as it has been cloudy in sunny CA.. at least the bay area. I wonder if this will result in a bigger drain on the battery??

Fine and dandy now outside! This update was well worth it. I tried under overcast and then sunny skies, everything is fine now. As E.J. said, it was useless outdoors, shaded or not (unbelievable how bad it was).
