Hi All,
One of my np-e3's for a Canon 1D Mark II is not accepting a charge. I tried several times to fully refresh the battery, but the process just continues for days on end and never works out. Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? How about what might have caused it? Have others run into this as well?
Thanks,
Rick

These batteries are nothing more than several "AA" sized NiMH batteries assembled together in a housing. It is quite possible one of the cells has simply gone dead, rendering the pack useless. If doing a full refresh/recharge cycle has no effect then you're most likely looking at a dead battery pack.
I've purchased a couple of the Black Diamond replacement ones from MyDigitalDiscount with good results. While some of the early versions of this battery had problems with the end cap fitting the 1D series bodies correctly they seem to have corrected this problem. The two I have fit correctly.
for $24.99 (2 bucks off if you buy two) its hard to go wrong. They also seem to have a noticably greater life than the OEM Canon NP-E3.
