ACR 3 and 1DS mk.2

Does anyone else have the impression that the latest ACR is capable of producing MUCH better files from 1DSII RAWs? I am mightily impressed, and I also like the extra perks (Crop, Shadows, Highlights, etc.).

extra features (and background processing) are nice. Haven't quite figured out how to get the color quite as nice as DPP though...

I like the idea of Camera RAW smart objects too... still thinking about the best way to leverage that capability.

I LOVE ACR 3,0!

I got my copy of CS2 today. (Germany :@ always takes more time.) I tested today several hours and I love the results. I love the look of the images converted with ACR 3,0. I think they are much better than from ACR 2,4 and I also prefer them against C1 files.

Tomorrow I will do some side to side tests, but right now I think that ACR 3,0 will be my favorite converter. ( I always liked the look of ACR and I think with version 3,0 it got even better.)
All the other perks like you said already are making the converter even better.

As soon as I got CS2 last week, I noticed the same thing. Camera Raw, even at the default settings, produces MUCH nicer Raw images from my 1Ds Mk II files than CS did.

Hey Chris (or anyone else who has both)--what version of C1 are you using? I'm asking because I really like the results from the new 3.7 Pro RC (they've changed a few things there). I've also got new Photoshop / Creative Suite on its way (because, well, it's Photoshop [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img])

Can you be more specific about what you think is better with ACR3?

I used 3.6 and I haven't checked 3.7 put perhaps you could make a sample wich shows the diffrenxe between 3.6 and 3.7 ?

When I have some time today, I'll make some samples myself.
