As noted on the webpage, the fabric detail should be ignored. The M7 shot is from 2003 when the shirt was new and unwashed. The 1ds shots are from 2005 when the shirt had been washed several times and the flannel matting obscures the underlying fabric detail. I agree that film is sharper as far as edge and lines per mm resolution in the subject. However, when film grain and MTF is considered, the 1ds images appear sharper (at least to me and most others who have looked at the images.) |
