Lost my 1Ds software disk - anyone have it for dow

Hi, Everyone:

I recently had a Dell 8200 crash (don't buy Dell!) and lost my 1Ds software, and of course, can't find the disk AND have a shoot this afternoon.... (whew!)

anyone have the 1Ds sofware for download????

Canon does not "allow" download of the "free" software that came with the camera! (The only ocmpany I'm aware of with this type of policy!)

I ordered the CD from Canon. ..the only way to get the "free" software from them was to order it for $19.95 + shippping - grand total $27.15 ! I guess they thought that my spending $8,000 for the body wasn't quite enough. I love the camera but this small episode was not what I would consider "support" in any way, shape or form. Greed can be uglier than digital artifacts...

I've downloaded the drivers and sw (EVU/FVU, DPP) for my 1D from the above link. The only complication was that I had to supply my serial number and had to download and install some 'old' versions for the updaters to work.

here as well.. with my serial # i was able to download the original versions, then the updates with no problem (biggest pain was removing the L bracket to get to the serial #!! :^)

I guess I'm dense. I don't see on the Canon Tech Support site the "original" software that came with hte 1Ds.
