defective pixel?

There is one pixel in every picture taken with my 1D,that is very bright (not totally white,though).Do I have to accept this or does it have to be repaired under warranty?
Can it be "repaired" at all or is the whole sensor going to be exchanged?

Hi Stevens,
I recently bought a 1D with one dead/bad pixel and I was also VERY worried about it, but I can honestly say it no longer bothers me at all.
It only shows up at 100% view, and never on prints.
If and when I need to send my 1D back to Canon I will have them switch the bad pixel off, I believe this is what they do they do not replace the sensor as far as I know?.
Assuming your camera is new then you have a whole year to decide what to do...

Thanks for your reply,Dave.They switch it off?!?So it`s gonna be black instead of white?Not very helpful.Do we really have to accept dead pixels?
BTW,I have two years to decide it.In Germany there`s a relatively new law.We have a two year warrantee on any product.No matter,what it is or where you bought it.That`s great.

Hi stevens,
They remap the pixel so you won't notice it at all after.
And no you do not have to accept it, you can send it back anytime you want.
Two years sounds good to me [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] .
Another thing you might do (if you shoot RAW) is to convert using Yarc Plus with ARF enabled, this will remove the bad pixel from the picture.
