I repiar my hotshoe too. But I push a little bit the pin (like a microswitch) and the pin desapear inside de base of the hot shoe. Can I need to go to the Canon Service Center?
I know that some cameras use this mini switch to activate the internal flash, like the D30, but the Canon EOS-1D does not have any internal flash. What function has this pin inside the hotshoe?
