Re: Phase One bug fixes

Jack:

The Phase One site says March for a Mac version. True? What is the "upgrade" policy if I buy the PC version now (I have a PC networked with my Macs) and switch to Apple when it's available?

Re: Phase One bug fixes

from PhaseOne:

"Phase One is pleased to announce the launch of an updated version 1.02 of the Capture One DSLR software to be downloaded from http://www.phaseone.com.

The version 1.02 includes feed back received within the first twenty days from product launch and should solve all identified problems.

The update is of course free of charge for those of you who has already purchased the software.

In addition to this we would like to announce that a purchase of Capture One DSLR for windows includes a free upgrade to Capture One DSLR for Mac OSX (to be launched March 1) allowing you to use the software on both windows and Mac platforms."

The new version 1.02 is on their web site and I'm sorry to say it turned every image to a ugly cyan.

I am having the same problem. Yes, I uninstalled 1.01 and then installed 1.02 in a different folder.

Here's how I reproduce the bug:

Open a folder full of RAW files.
Thumbnails look fine.
Click on a thumbnail.
Go to Gray Balance and click on anything, even the Reset button.
The image looks the same. OK so far.
Open a different folder of RAW files.
Now as C1 is generating the previews and the thumbnails, all the images are totally cyan!

Even reset gray balance will revert them back to the ugly cyan.

The only way to fix it is to throw away the preview files in the preview directory and re-launch C1 again.

Can anyone else verify this bug?

I am running Windows 2000 pro.

Re: Phase One bug fixes

I do wait until C1 has finished and the green dot is gone. It doesn't make a difference, I still get the cyan images.

In fact the cyan images appear AFTER C1 processes the previews and the green dot is gone. Before it processes the image, the thumbnails look fine.

One problem I do have is why does C1 let you do anything before it processes the image if you're not supposed to?

If I rotate an image before C1 processes the file, it rotates the image back. Why would it let me rotate the image and then force it back to the original orientation? Why not just tell me "Please wait until the image has been processed" when I try to rotate an image?

Ok then, I have several questions. Have you selected a monitor profile and is it the same one you are using in Phtoshop. If you process a file does it appear cyan in Photoshop as well. If you click balance on something, does the cyan change/go away. Would you please shoot an image of a gray card, if you have not already and load that into a capture folder. Click balance on that and tell us how it responds.

Re: Phase One bug fixes

Re cyan images: I'd also suggest trying workflow/all-capture-settings/reset. If you pointed your preview folder somewhere else and it still contained old previews, you might try cleaning out the preview folder (file/pref/misc, or just exit and delete the files in previews). This is almost certainly a "transition" effect and there should be a way to clear it up.
