1D and 1 gb Microdrives?

Is anyone using 1 GB Micro drives in their 1-D and if so, are you having any trouble with them. I have 2 unopened 1 GB drives and want to know if I should send them back unopened.

I shot >5K pics with my D30 and microdrive with no issues. Upgrading to the 1D and same microdrive, I've shot another 2K pictures. No issues.

Same here - I use a 1G Microdrive, on trips I dump it into a Mindstor or a laptop, and it has worked fine.
But, I haven't ever dropped the Microdrive, and I'm *very* careful not to. It only comes out of the 1D when I need to dump it, and I'm careful to do it somewhere safe.

I've got 2 and I've had no problems at all. Just handle them very carefully!

Re: 1D and 1 gb Microdrives?

I've been using the same three 1G Microdrives for the last two years or so and have never lost a picture - but like the rest of the people here I do treat them very well when out of the camera.

They have also performed well in what would be considered difficult working conditions - in the 50 degree heat of the Afghan desert and the dust of Africa. They have also survived some pretty horrendous travelling in four wheel drive journeys that wreck suspensions and crack windscreens as well as been through countless X-ray machines.

Now I've said all that they are sure to let me down big time on my next job!

I have 2 1-Gig Microdrives and have used them with the 1D since Nov 29th without any problems. (other than they fill up faster than when I had them in the D30!)
