EOS "1Dx" ???

The 1D appears to have the same physical size sensor as the DCS 560 (and 660, 760) with a 1.3x factor. Seems to me that this
really leaves the door open for a companion
model (1Dx if you will) in the near future which supports a 6MP file size (like the 560). By popping in the 6MP CCD sensor that the 760 uses, along with a few tweaks to HW and SW, I feel it would be fairly simple to make a 6MP+ version of the 1D.

I feel like Canon needed to come out with a solid replacement for the D2000 (DCS 520) as soon as possible, as Canon dominates the Sports Photo Market (take a look at the sidelines on next Sundays NFL games and you'll see mostly big white lenses...) That's why they came out with the FAST 4MP version first. I would be shocked if Canon did not release a version of the 1D with a substantially higher pixel count (al-la the Nikon D1x) within the next 6-9 months. - Lance
