Re: Shot with EOS1d today

Rick, did he really let you take the files with you? I took some shots with the 1D and posted one on my website. They went berserk and threatened with all kind of actions, so I gently removed it again

Re: Shot with EOS1d today

Yes he let me have the files and said it was okay to show them. He had just gotten the camera back that morning from getting the firmware updated. I don't know if that will be the final version before the camera is released or not. I've e-mailed a couple of them to some people.

I was going to post a couple of them on my website but before I do maybee someone else from Canon can let me know if it's okay or not. I don't want to cause any problems if they don't want the images shown yet.

Re: Shot with EOS1d today

I was traveling with the NPPA's Flying Short Course in Charlotte and Syracuse last weekend, and the Canon reps on hand DID have EOS1-D's with firmware updates.

Hopefully the final pricing for dealers here in the USA will become available early next week.

If you have ANY other questions, please feel free to contact me.

Re: Shot with EOS1d today

Hi Jeff -- was this camera the likely production model or are they still putting in some (minor ????) mods - apart from the firmware update. Hopefully if the release date is to be maintained (in time for Xmas - or am I just being too cynical ) then the final model must surely be ready by now or they are not going to make it.
Can't wait to see the RAW images from a Real camera at 50 and 100 ISO.

Re: Shot with EOS1d today

Sorry my error -- this should be 200 (default). The 100 ISO is a custom settable variable if you want to use it at 100 as default. At least this is what I gathered from the original reviews of the pre-production cameras. I'm not sure why they made 200 ISO the default but if the noise is acceptable then the extra stop will be worth it.
Cheers

Re: Shot with EOS1d today

I just spoke with Canon and they don't want any of the images posted on the web. The camera had new firmware but may not be a final production model. Sorry for the confusion.
