Nice report, Rob.

Can you tell us if 21 JPEG shots is the physical limit the buffer can hold regardless of compression settings - i.e. fine/normal, level 9 vs level 3.

I think Canon has endeavored to standardize the number of frames that can be achieved, even though the actual number of frames could probably vary as it does with the D30, since both cameras process the image before the buffer.

This was probably deemed necessary so that the frame counter in the viewfinder could work.
