EOS-1 D spotted at Indy

I've seen at least two photographers using the EOS1-D at the US GP at Indianapolis right now(on tv).
For any European race fans with the Digital mulitchannel Grand Prix coverage turn to the dedicated pits and replay channel and instead of watching the cars watch the cameras!

How can you watch the cameras with all those magnificent F1 machines (and babes!) around?

Hate to disappont you but I'm covering the F-1 race in Indianapolis and there are no EOS1d's being used and we have been watching. You must be dreaming about the new camera!

How would you know? I would have to imagine that on TV a 1D would look a lot like a 1V-HS from the front or a D2000 from the back.

Re: EOS-1 D spotted at Indy

Funny that you mentioned this. I am always watching the photojournalists on TV to see what type of camera they are using. During one of the first news conferences at the Pentagon after the terrorist attack, I the back of a camera that I had never seen before.

Then a couple of weeks later, I read on this web site to go look at the pictures of the new EOS 1-D. As soon as I looked at the pictures I realized this was the same camera I saw on TV at a Pentagon news conference.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are some out there in circulation at least on a beta test.

Re: EOS-1 D spotted at Indy

I have it on tape. there was a photographer with a 70-200 taking pics of Montoya's car and it had the white oval blob on the top left and some words printed beneath where it says "DIGITAL" on the 1D.
