A question about follow-up

Last Saturday evening, on Valentines Day, I did an event at a local hotel whereby the dinner guests for the evening got their portraits done by me and will receive a 4x6 in a display easel. After I finished their portraits, my wife showed them the proofs on my laptop and they chose which image they wanted for their complimentary 4x6 (the restaurant was paying me for these complementary images/easels). They also were able to order additional images/enlargements if they wanted.

Once their images come back in a couple weeks from the lab, I had planned to put their images/easels/plaque mounts etc, in a folder along with the following items:
  • my regular price list
  • a business card
  • a rack card I have made up highlighting individual and family portraiture
  • a personal letter from me thanking them for the business and some sort of ask/request for referrals and new business
Is there a better way to return the images to the customers than what I've proposed here? Have I missed anything?

If anybody has experience with this sort of thing I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Curtis

Re: A question about follow-up

Sounds like you've covered all the bases Curtis.

Never hurts to ask for referrals. Perhaps a follow-up phone call later might lead to some leads.

Jeff

Re: A question about follow-up

Everyone that will receive their prints from this event has already seen my prices, albeit special Valentine's ones. So maybe they'd be surprised that my regular prices are higher.

I'd like to think that because they now have a relationship with me, they'd be more likely to make purchases based on value. But by including prices, I guess I run the risk that I might turn people off who don't want to purchase based on the value they receive?

I guess my initial thought with including my prices was that I would educate people that if they decide to book future sessions with me, that they wouldn't be paying the prices that were available on Valentines Day.
