Re: T&I sales distribution question.

I wasn't happy with my and my lab's overall turnaround time. We shot saturday and had half the order in the computer by tuesday night, but the other half didn't get in till the following sunday - a full week. Some of that is we had other things to shoot (the league was a late gig or i'd had my schedule clear). We got pretty fast toward the end having learned a few shortcuts, etc. It just takes time.
Then our lab had the orders by monday but didn't deliver it all to us till the following tuesday...I'm not happy about that at all. Not sure what normal is, but they said it was prom time (and it is) and they promise 48 hr turnaround on that stuff so it takes priority I suppose.

Another lab offers software for all this - you scan in the kid/team/package and shoot the kid. Afterwards you go thru and throw out the blinks, do any edits you might need to do, and kick it to the lab. A guy I know that uses it claims he can shoot this sat and deliver product next saturday - I'm all in favor of that. Didn't go this route as there wasn't time to get the hardware (scanners) and do some practicing - I was fearful of f'ing it all up by trying to do too much new stuff at one time.

Re: T&I sales distribution question.

Scanner - are you talking film??? Maybe I missed something.

Our turnaround is 2 -3 weeks, usually 2. We often have everything packaged and ready prior to that but since we take a lot of checks, we have to allow the banks here a full 2 weeks to notify us of any NSFs. We do our own production, but when there are thousands of images in the system, hitting the 2 week mark is just not possible. We're still way faster than our competition.
