need to know how to create web based slideshow asap
i am looking to offer a webpage slideshow of my images set to music for real estate and dont know where to start.. should i build a site from scratch or is there someone that has pre made ones close to this...
the page is kindof simple, black background, title at a top of page, slide show that automatically plays, link/section for listing description and contact info.
specifically looking for
1. a single page with a slideshow of images i upload, say 24 max that changes automatically. title at top of page (ie "luxury condo"). just a simple plain black background. slideshow would probably be flash based. hopefully could be programed that images wouldnt be able to pulled off/downloaded. with transitions (perhaps a few choices here too... and a few options for the time each photo shows up) if duration and transitions are too hard, not a big deal, its fine to keep it simple and have all pages the same.
2. text box for a description of the home, maybe 75-100 words
3. with the agents photo/contact info in the corner of the page that wouldnt change throughout the slideshow. (contact info could be part of an image that i lay out, so it would all be in image as far a you are concerned.)
4. background music. one/off controls on page. options for 3-4 different songs/music themes (perhaps in the data management system or on the page/visitor selected)
5. my studio logo/contact info (again, all as an image as far as your concerned)
6. 1-2 hyperlinks on the page to realtors personal page/my studio page etc (that would be specified in the DMS)
in the data management side of the sites, i would like to have
7. a way to see how long each page has been up, for billing to client (days or weeks).
8. a way to activate/deactivate the page from being live without loosing data.
9. upload of listing photos, hopefully in an batch way, from a folder etc. i wont need to caption/keyword the photos, but would like a way to rearrange the order of them.
10. a listing title input field, as well as listing description.
11. music choice controls, perhaps i choose one of three for the listing here if not on the page itself.
12. hyperlink inputs as detailed above

On its face, your needs are simple. If you are not happy working within html and css, you should seek the assistance of a web design professional. Live data management requires some familiarity with SQL or similar.

coffeecup gallery CoffeeCup - HTML Editor, Flash & Web Design Software might work for you. It's cheap and easy enough to get working. I couldn't get the images not to be jaggy.
For just a slidwshow animoto or show-it web might work, might not. go look.
if you have proselect it can create quicktime movies. I've not tried that feature though.
I went ahead and got Adobe Flash and as soon as I get through some more tutorials I'm doing my web slideshows and galleries that way. Doesn't seem any harder than PS, but things can move and layers can appear and vanish independently of the movement...at this point I can make lots of odd things happen, just not the things I want to happen!

Coffee cup is a app you run on your desk like PS or anything. Pick the layout you want (can be saved as a template) and drag in the images you want. It will resize, etc. Then upload via FTP. It generates a flash file (Swf) and then you have your list of image files.
Animoto is an online deal, upload then it does all the rest, a bit more, um, entergetic and you have less control. You can then paste it into a page, email, etc. It then generates an active X control or something - nothing else to deal with but you're limited on it's size and i've seen different browsers and the same browser on different computers handle it differently. I've used it for some HS senior slideshows, a friend uses it for putting wedding slideshows in her blog.

My mistake.
If you use a Mac, you could try Aperture 2.1 on a 30 day demo license and see how a .mac account would fit with your needs. The web gallery/slide show and client control may be just what you are looking for. The provided link is to a short video tutorial (3:22 minutes) on using Aperture to produce a web gallery.
