Marketing Tip for eventers!

Hi,

I will make the first post here to try and get the ball rolling.

Next time you are in the supermarket, post office or local store, take a few minutes and read through the announcements/whats on board, its amazing how many jobs dinner dances, balls, sports days etc. Just a few examples of events I've picked up from the adverts.

A free and easy way to expand your customer base and its generally local!

Re: Marketing Tip for eventers!

Hi Ian:- thanks for the tip. And for getting tis thread off the ground. This could be a good forum for just about any of us. I look forward to some of the "big guns" contributions.

I've been getting the ball rolling this year with horse shows and dog shows. There has been so much useful information put forward on these forums. I've set so many functions and workflows just from the sharing from everyone.
I learned that with dog shows if they are going to change photographers or need a new one, they know well in advance. I missed two of them because I contacted them in December for shows in May and July. Hopefully I have a shot for next year, I have made notes to contact them in September.

Thanks for sharing
Chris

Re: Marketing Tip for eventers!

I'll add another simple marketing tip. Overcome your natural tendencies to blend in with the crowd. Learn to stand in the middle of the crowd and scream as loud as you can "Here I am and I am going to sell you something!" The successful entrepeneur knows that they have to stand out and be different from the rest. Practice by looking in the mirror and explaining to yourself how you differ from your competitors and why those differences are reasons why your customer is buying from you.

I'll give you an example to get you started. My customers buy from me because I provide prints, CDs and mouse pads, made to their specification, on-demand and on-site. You take home exactly what you want and when you want it. The other guys won't do anything special for you and they organize their business around their needs, not yours. Do you REALLY want to wait days just to be able to make a choice?
