Cool LCD monitor suggestions

After calibrating my monitor, I have determined that I need a replacement.

Can I get a decent 19-22" LCD in $300 range that will be decent?

I don't shoot for national geographic (LOL) and just need a decent monitor.

Can anyone make any suggestions please!

Also, I have seen some monitors that rotate to the portrait format-is this a cool feature in a monitor?

thanks in advance.

Re: LCD monitor suggestions

I got a Dell U2410 on one of the Dell Days specials at under $400.Cdn. It's a 24" IPS and pivots. There are a few bad reviews but mine has not been a problem at all and that's partly why you buy a Dell, if it's bad, ship it back. I'd never go back to a non-IPS after this, the viewing angle is amazing without color or density changes. Lots of inputs and outputs. Wait for it to go on sale and get free shipping too. I spent a lot of time looking and I thought it was the best in the price range I could afford. Cons: It's big and it does get warm above it, pivots easy but you don't want to do it all day long - too big.

Re: LCD monitor suggestions

Can’t go wrong with the Spectraview line from NEC. Just announced a new one with pretty impressive new technology (PA241W) with a 26 just announced. Best in class for a calibrated smart monitor.

That's hardly in the same price range. At least, not when I looked.

The P221W is much closer (and much better than anything mentioned).
