Holiday snap goes commercial

I took a photo of a movie being filmed (including one of the A-List cast) whilst on holiday last year. It was taking place in a train station in the US as we walked through.
I've now been approached to sell the image for a book to promote the local area. How do I stand legally? As it was a holiday snap I did not have a property release / permission to take commercial photos / any model releases. Can I sell it without fear of the station or the production company coming after me for damages etc?

Re: Holiday snap goes commercial

Best thing to do is contact the production company who made the film and be truthful and ask permission..
Has the film been released they were shooting? because if you did sell the image, without permission and it had not been released, legal implications are a hell of a lot more serious..
I would be very wary of selling an image like this!! especially if A list celebrities are recognisable... Are you in the UK, if so contact the AOP (association of photographers) legal dept..
I was a feature film publicity photographer for a few years.. and i can't even show or sell images i have taken...
Personally, i would put it in the Personal Album, or donate the image, telling the person who uses it to buy you lunch and sign a disclaimer.....
Hope that helps..
