client->magazine, magazine->client, any difference to me

for a commercial shoot where the client hires me and from the shoot i grant the client unlimited royalty free rights and they chose to have an ad made and ran once a month for a year in a magazine

is this any different of a situation than if

the magazine calls me to produce pictures for an ad for a client in their publication to be used more than once?

it may sound straight forward but i have lots of experience with the first but none with the second situation. just wanted to make sure i wasnt being abused by a publication.

i have heard the terms... "revisions" and "multiple insertions".... in my day in a cookie cutter commercial photography agreement in photobiz but dont know what they mean or if they apply here or helps... i usually saw them with "not permitted" after each.
