Re: Imacon Flextight 343

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a Mac driver for the Imacon Flextight 343 scanner to use on a new Mac intel laptop running Leopard? Your help much appreciated.

That's a pretty old piece of hardware, so finding drivers for it will probably be a big issue. You might be better off finding an old iMac to run it as a dedicated machine, and then networking to your existing system.

If you're in the market for a high end film scanner, look into the Nikon models. that's what most photo stock agencies use, and while not as good as the Imacon, at least they're still supported.

Re: Imacon Flextight 343

The spec sheet for your 343 scanner says that it will run under Windows XP. If all else fails, you could install Windows XP on your Intel Mac and run your 343 on the Windows platform. Although I agree with David, it may be better to pick up an old Mac and use it just for your scanner.

A lot of the older scanners are great, too bad the companies no longer support these scanners. You can get a $100 Epson scanner and find drivers for it for the next 20 years, but pay a few thousand dollars for a high end scanner and good luck getting drivers for it next week.
