Re: What was this photo shot with?

Personally, who really cares what it was shot with, but it does look manipulated a bit from my eye, but who really knows other than the person who took the picture. I think it could be a snapshot with a quality point and shoot such as a Panasonic Lumix, Leica DLUX3, Kodak V705...wide angle p&shoots or G10 placed on the desk...whatever. Anyway, this is more realistic anyway and really what was originally shot before they attached that fake looking Obama head in that pic!

Hi Dennis,
Since you asked it came from here.
POTUS uses a Mac | 9 to 5 Mac
I then posted it in my homeboy forum -- Macheist. MacHeist » Forums » Obama uses a Macbook
A raging thread ensued in which I made an offhand remark (post 40) about the photo's origin that provoked a fratboy attack, as you can see. I joined Prophotohome to get professional feedback. This is a terrific forum I will continue to participate in. Please feel free to post on Machiest.

I'm currently shopping for my first DSLR under $1100 with lens. What do you recommend?

Re: What was this photo shot with?

If you can go a bit more expensive get a Canon EOS-50D. If the price is important and you can live with 1-year-old technology at a GREAT price, then get a Canon EOS-40D, which is actually a helluva camera (I have one and I'm not upgrading to the 50D). I recommend you get either with a Canon 28-135 lens. It's a great combo.

FYI, here is an image I shot with my own 40D and 28-135 lens:

Thanks, Noel... Nice shot. I'll look into those 2 combos.
