inherited contax zeiss

I have inherited a Contax camera from my father who recently died. I remember that he said it was valuable, but I don't know where to start in assessing its value or how to sell it. The brown leather case says "zeiss ikon" and is firmly attached to the camera. The case aslo has the number 178718 below the eyehole. The camera says CONTAX and the lens says Carl Zeiss Jena Nr 2399831.

Any help in determining its value and the optimal sales channel would be appreciated.

you could try KEH. I used it as a litmus for pricing on a bunch of Hasselblad equipment.
