Shooting Clothing Product

I am shooting tee shirts for an online catalog and I am just looking for any tips and advice I can get to help. In particular I am wondering how to achieve a great shot like this. The invisible person effect and nice lighting.

Also how to make black not look really flat and show texture.
Any advice at all on this subject of shooting clothing product shots would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!

gjn001,

Welcome to Pro Photo Home! Suggestion: as a new member and asking other members for professional help you might want to give some information about yourself - like your name and at least a brief background about yourself. Thanks.

Ron

Re: Shooting Clothing Product

Ron,

Sorry, I guess I didn't even really think about it.

I just recently graduated from a college in Iowa and am now working in the Omaha, NE area. I am the lead web designer and marketer for an online catalog company.

As part of this job I am shooting a lot of product shots for catalog as well as online use. I have a good background of photography through school, however, I love to learn new things.

My true love is graphic design, but I fell into photography through learning this trade and have really enjoyed it.

One of the unique qualities of this forum is that we use our real names and encourage the use of photos to add a personal feel. This keeps the forum honest and discourages aimless personal attacks.

If you chose a screen name other than your real name, please post your real name in the signature at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks

Re: Shooting Clothing Product

you may find what you're wanting in This thread. Seem like I recall another similar thread not too far back but I may be thinking of another forum.
