Re: Manual Focus with AF lenses

My concern about switching to an off-brand screen has always been with the metering being effected. I would appreciate any feedback on this.

I hear you and had the same concern. But it works fine. The Beattie screens are designed for compatibility and feature an instructional flyer indicating which screen type setting to apply in the camera's custom functions.

I've tested this on both cameras and see no material affects. The screens are also just a bit brighter than the standard focusing screens.

Re: Manual Focus with AF lenses

At one time I had several different screens that I used, including the Nikon screen with a grid. Maybe because I was used to looking at ground glass, I preferred no center spot or split (rangefinder excepted of course).

So can I look forward to being able to change screens should I elect to stay with Nikon? I'm leaning toward the D2Xs since it should be enough ahead of what I actually need to break back in and allow some growing/re-learning.
