Archival Slide Sleeves

Hi,

I am looking for recommendations for slide sleeves to achive my few years worth of slides. They are all lying around at the moment in their boxes and I really need to have them properly stored and archived. I do not really have any prior experiences with the sleeves and the only ones I had gotten before are really the generics. Will really need some that could last and protect as some of the slides document buildings that are not standing any more.

Will appreciate any inputs and million thanks in advance.

Re: Archival Slide Sleeves

Hi Jeremy,

I am assuming you are talking about 2x2 inch mounted 35mm transparencies...

Any polypropylene or polyethylene pages should work well, such as Printfile, Clearfile, etc. will do the job. These pages hold 20 mounted images per page and are fairly reasonable in cost, especially when you order several hundred.

You can fine direct sellers on the net. Another supplier of archival supplies for storage is Light Impressions, which has these pages and more.

If you are storing in file cabinets, any of these suppliers has the hanging-style of pages. For my organization in my many cabinets, I use the box-bottom hanging folders to keep different projects and subjects organized.
