RAID help - Buffalo Terrastation

Hi There
I need to invest in a RAID array with increased storage as it is far too confusing, time consuming, as well as space wasting on my desk.
Currently i have a whole series of 250-300 ext HDDs and want to replace them with one unit that is RAID-1.
I am based in China so unfortunately my choice of product here is limited. My IT supplier can get me this Buffalo Terrastation Pro.

Has anyone had any experience with this unit?

Any comments suggestions gratefully received.
Cheers.
Rodney

Re: RAID help - Buffalo Terrastation

Hi Rodney
I've used (and reccomended the buffalo device for about a year now and it works very well. I would consider a raid 5 config rather that raid 1 - the protection is more or less as good but you get more disk space.

I know you say you choices are limited, but... I would really encourage you to have a look at a product called drobo (Data Robotics, Inc.) - and anybody else that is looking at storage. If you go to the site and look at the video - this is one of the best new gadgets to hit the market in a long time.
