Mozy - Online backup

I'm curious to see if anyone has experience with online backup solutions. I've heard of PhotoShelter for the professional photographer and there are a host of business and consumer online backup solutions out there.

Today at work (IT Mgmt Consulting firm) there was talk about Mozy (Mozy Online Backup: Free. Automatic. Secure.), an online service that allows 2GB of online backup free or "unlimited" online backup for $4.95 per month (personal use only; business users pay $3.95 per month and $0.50 per GB per month).

I'd be interested in hearing what experience others have had with online backup solutions.

Chris,

I have tried both Mozy and also JungleDisk - Reliable online storage powered by Amazon S3. Mozy is easier to use for backups, but restoring files is surprisingly complicated. It won't restore immediately (it sends you an email when the file is ready) and if you used encryption you also have to download a special tool to decrypt the file... which is not at all user friendly.

My favourite is Jungledisk because I'm a cheapskate... it's very cheap being based on Amazon S3... and because I really think Amazon knows how to run a huge, highly redundant data center and manage storage. I am not sure the folks at Mozy do based on my experiences to date.

Cheers,

Mathew
