Ardfry Imaging, LLC, has released its DNG RAW Codec, a Windows Vista compatible plug-in for Windows Explorer and Windows (Live) Photo Gallery.

The DNG Codec is a Windows Imaging Component for DNG RAW files. The DNG Codec will use the embedded previews or generate one if the DNG file doesn’t contain a preview. You can sort DNG files in the Explorer by Date Taken. You can also search your DNG files by their EXIF, IPTC, and XMP metadata.
Many of the same benefits are available on Windows XP by using the DNG Codec with Windows Live Photo Galley.
