Revolutionary sensor cleaning, that works!

Last Tuesday, as I went to the local camera shop in Bordeaux, I met a nice fellow which affirmed that he could clean the sensors better than Canon or Nikon, in fact he explained me that the technique using the Eclipse liquid leaves a fine layer which veils the images.
He uses a liquid of his own to clean the sensor.
The people from the camera shop told me that he was serious and had cleaned many sensors for their clients and that his technique is really amazing and worth the try…

I was a little skeptic, but I like to live dangerously and decided to test and here is the result, for 38 Euros (VAT included!).

Link

Of course I have no connection with this man, he's not a friend and I don't own his company!-)

His website
Contact page

And yes, he can receive bodies from abroad, and yes he will send the bodies back to their home after cleaning!

more here I hope it s not forbidden to link to another forum, as there are questions already answered there…

I read the comments in the link you provided. Sensor cleaning removes dust and particles that are visible especially with smaller aperture openings. I do not believe that sensor cleaning increases depth of field. Depth of field is dependent on sensor size, aperture and focal length. The photos you provided are at best misleading.

Where's the dirt in the first photo?

The images are focused on different things.

Please go take a picture of a clear or mostly clear sky at f/22 and post that.

Something isn't Kosher here. That difference is HUGE! As I posted to the original site after talking with my sources inside of Canon, unless the sensor was cleaned with something that had an awful lot of streaking or a film residue, the before and after don't seem right. As my sources pointed out (and it makes perfect sense), if you clean a lens or the surface of this glass and don't have a residue, there's no reason to see this huge difference. I guess if you smear butter on the sensor, anything that cleans it off, and all residue, would produce such results.

This appears to be a scam.

Re: Revolutionary sensor cleaning, that works!

Believe what you want and keep blind. I know it's hard to admit…

I have always cleaned my sensor whith Eclipse only.

I agree that DOF is not the exact term I should have used, but reread and relook the origlnal post and follow the links:

Here the "after" image show more sharpness front and back than the previous, isn't it a kind of better "DOF"?

This link shows a larger crop and below you'll see inserts with the focus point…
This is not the sky at 22, this is real life pic at ƒ4!

The post is not about dust cleaning only, but sensor cleaning, quite a difference!

Re: Revolutionary sensor cleaning, that works!

Conjecture following.

Nothing to do with DOF [definitely not], looks more like there's not only very visible dust and lent on the AA-filter but also a thin layer of residue blurring the image. that would be a mix of fats, salt and other components in the air, just like the nearly invisible veil we find on the inside of car windows [it becomes clearly visible when it's a smoker's car or when one breaks the layer somewhere].
