PS Script Builder & PS Side Click Pro Automate ARC new vers

There are updates to both PS Script Builder (New version 1.5.18) and PS Side Click Pro (New version 1.2.3) now available at www.ksscinc.com. Both programs have been updated to support raw processing using the Adobe ARC plug-in.

PS Script Builder brings a very similar workflow as Capture One when using ARC in interactive mode. All you would need is one script command, for example a script command that saves your final file (Save TIFF script command). PS Script Builder does the file opens, submission to ARC and closing of the input file automatically. But since you have the option of opening in the ARC preview window you can alter each image as you deem necessary. True interactive batch.

There are now 89 script commands available in PSSB.

PS Script Builder has two ways to use the ARC plug-in. One is to just run raw images into PS with no need for any new commands. If the image is a raw image and the user has the plug-in the image file will be opened in the ARC plug-in for conversion. If you have the preview indicator set to on the preview will come up. The alt key setting works just as if you had opened the file yourself.

This functionality gives a similar functionality as the Capture One raw conversion workflow. Individually selected images or a folder full of images can be selected and interactively batched through Photoshop.

The other way PS Script Builder allows for the ARC plug-in is via it's new "Automated (Un-attended) Adobe RC" script command. This command when present in the script will open a raw image via the ARC plug-in. This command works in a similar fashion as a batch job in Photoshop that is executing a pre-recorded action. Different though is that this command uses a saved RCS file from the ARC plug-in. During selection of this command, it asks for the RCS file to use. The other ARC plug-in settings such as size, color space etc. are also present. You select raw files and start the script. Because this command is easily editable, it is much easier to manage it's utilization than having a couple of dozen action commands pre-set to specified (difficult to change) settings. You can batch any file types you wish together, no need for separate batches. PSSB/PS ARC know what file is what and will handle it accordingly.

The user can also start automated (like batch) but interrupt the automated flow at any point via new command keys on the PSSB monitor. By pressing the "Man ARC" command key, the user is telling PSSB to stop opening the file in the ARC plug-in and go back to opening the file in the preview mode. You can return to automated flow at any point by pressing the new "Auto ARC" command button.

Both products now have integration with Neat Image and iMatch (iMatch requires a script which is provided at no extra charge).

PS Side Click Pro has many new features amongst which is the new Open Next File command. This command can copy and rename files as it operates upon them also. You just set a folder as input via a left click on this command. After setting the input folder, you then only have to click the command button and the next file in the folder is opened in Photoshop. If the copy and rename functions were specified, then that is also done at that time. If the file is a raw file it is opened in the new ARC plug-in if you have it. After you are finished with the image, another click and the next file is opened. PSSC remembers it's next file settings between executions so you can stop, come back later and just start up where you left off.

There is a new iDup tab which makes it easy to put multiple images on an 8.5 x 11 document for printing. 8 different image formats are supported. Have you ever wanted to put two images sized to 5 x 7 on an 8.5 x 11 sheet for printing? And do it automatically? PSSC iDup can do it along with another 7 target image sizes. Wallets, business cards and others are among the supported target sizes.

The Add Image File command has been upgrade to allow for dynamic text. This allows you to set up a dummy image file with text lines that contain dynamic text keywords and/or other text. Upon opening the file the add image command will resolve the dynamic text keywords with the current images EXIF data and place the result on the image.

There is a lot here. Please visit and look the software over. I am confident you will find it useful and priced very reasonably.
