Canon's Surprise Gift (to 5D MKII owners) - Drew Strickland
Canon has just recently put an early Christmas present under the tree for current and future 5D MKII owners. You can now record video in full manual mode. Alas, Av and Tv modes are still absent. But, the Auto ISO feature certainly helps make up for this in the meantime.
Thank you, Canon, Chuck Westfall, and anyone else who heard the cries of their customers, and answered.
This is a most welcome addition to the best dollar value camera currently available. (short video and more after the break)
Now, I could go on and quibble about all the other suggestions I posted in my open letter to Canon regarding the video mode. But, not now. Credit given, where credit is due. Thanks for the upgrade.

Now, about that auto-focus, articulating screen, the prime IS lenses, oops sorry...

So the new Canon G11 has been announced and people are looking - including me! But I have been carrying the G10 in my pocket for the past year or so and it has gotten to be a habit to grab my keys, wallet, a quarter (gotta have some cash) and the G10. Without it now I don't feel dressed.
Pictures of your dog or cat if done right inspires exclamations of praise and encouragement's to "enter that picture in a contest"!
Digital photography has taken over as the main photographic method today. Ironically, go back just a few short years and most of us were shooting film, buying film, developing film, and getting prints for all out efforts.
